# Quick Start

### 1. Packages Installation

Navigate to your project folder.

```bash
cd project-folder
```

Install Packages by **npm** or **yarn** as per your preferences. Here we are using **`yarn`** the package manager.

```bash
berry-vuetify-vuejs> yarn
or
berry-vuetify-folder> npm install
```

{% hint style="info" %}
**We would recommend yarn over npm**. Why? see this: <https://www.whitesourcesoftware.com/free-developer-tools/blog/npm-vs-yarn-which-should-you-choose/>
{% endhint %}

### 2. Start

Once the package is installed, you can start your app by using **`npm run`** command

```bash
c:\berry-vuetify-vuejs> npm run dev
```

This will start your local server at **`http://localhost:3000`** Also, the Terminal shows something like this.

```bash
Compiled successfully!
vite v7.3.1 dev server running at:
> Local: http://localhost:3000/
> Network: use `--host` to expose
ready in 544ms.
```

### 3. Build & Deploy

To build your app in production use **`yarn build`** command.

```bash
npm run build
```

### 4. Deploy for your live site

Change the base URL with your domain and build your application.

You can control this with the `homepage` field in your **`package.json`**

{% code title="package.json" %}

```javascript
"homepage" : "http://example.com"
```

{% endcode %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**You’ll need to have Node v24.x.x or later on your local development machine** (but it’s not required on the server). You can use [nvm](https://github.com/creationix/nvm#installation) (macOS/Linux) or [nvm-windows](https://github.com/coreybutler/nvm-windows#node-version-manager-nvm-for-windows) to easily switch Node versions between different projects.
{% endhint %}
